I find myself comparing and contrasting the failure of the voting systems that gave us two supposedly undemocratic outcomes.
Nobody seems to doubt the corruption in FIFA but who would not vote for Blatter, the FIFA Santa Clause nominated to distribute FIFA spoils so freely in the third world? The cash at Sepp Blatter’s disposal was of course reluctantly provided by the football-rich nations, and their corporate sponsors, so yes of course they would not, and did not, vote for Father Christmas.
That would not be "corruption" per se, but some other backhanded issues currently under investigation may well be found to be criminally corrupt.
It is not of course the voting system that allows Sepp Blatter to continue in his position, but the FIFA money.
The voting system that gave us the bizarrely disproportionate House of Commons and David Cameron, was also bought with the dosh provided by the football-rich nations, and their corporate sponsors, and is far more corrupt than the system that gave us Sepp Blatter.
And that is a very low bench mark to rise above.
Even Goldfish now understand that.....
what was I saying?
