I have had a letter from Grant Shapps repeating your phrase,
"When you go to bed with Nigel Farage, you wake up with Ed Miliband."
So what made you change your mind about the "first past the post" electoral system?
During the AV campaign you said British voters are incapable of understanding any system that was not "first past the post" and that AV would lead to a coalition government.
Obviously it was the current system that gave us a coalition of Eton boys and now you are stating the bleeding obvious that you failed to state during the AV debate.
You now seem to be making an undignified calculation of public opinion. Do I have to remind you that a vote on principle is better than a calculated selfish vote?
And when did the penny drop? You now seem to realise that an ugly donkey is as capable of passing a posh thoroughbred in such a race, and one which you advocated knowingly just two years ago.
Voters might think you are now whinging about it.
Don't you hate it when politicians change their tune to suit the new dilemma they might face? And very unattractive of you to wish to court xenophobes and racists.
Let’s face it, you went to Eton where you would have read some history. If not, get your money back for your parents' sake.
