Today, Mrs Monk alerted me to the drama on Fox TV who were beside themselves with a palpable sense of disappointment, when a young mother was unanimously found innocent, of the charge of murder and all the lesser charges, of child abuse.
She is therefore innocent of the charge of murdering her own child and would no longer face the death penalty.
As the verdicts were announced The Monks were sickened by the immediate Fox TV speculation that nevertheless, the jury would have suspected her guilt if not able to ascertain her guilt.
The jury were allowed by the judge to discuss the matter with Fox but unanimously declined to do so. Fox speculated that the Jury had decided amongst themselves to sell a book. The Fox air head pundits have no shame.
Fox TV is of course vile but this side of the Atlantic Rupert Murdoch’s other venture, “The News Of The World,” has had the worse day in its history having been caught phone tapping and tormenting the parents of abducted and murdered children. This crime is mercifully rare in Britain, but Murdoch sells sensationalist copy in Britain when it happens,

The News Of The World” is in damage limitation mode, but they are found to be irresponsible, and face a great deal of public vilification. Politicians are taking sides but they are also getting it where it hurts since corporate advertisers are suspending their accounts.
Respect the jury in from Tampa.
When Fox announced that they were about to give their verdict within 24 hours, Fox speculated that this was a sign of a guilty verdict. When the jury gave a “not guilty” verdict, Fox speculated that this was a signal of the jury’s desire to go home as soon as possible after a long trial, and if not that, a sign of their incompetence.
Fox TV is vile and the defence attorney, Jose Baez, much maligned by Fox, saved a life where Fox TV wished to take a life.
The Trial was apparently an indictment of the Death Penalty, prescribed in Florida, where they apparently obsess with the ritual killing of their own.
