Cley Next the Sea ....a Norfolk town, so sleepy, they couldn't be bothered to add a preposition.
A rare American White Crowned Sparrow, (that's a bird to you who are not in the NSBT, National Society of Bird Twitchers), has landed in Cley, Norfolk and much Twitcher Paparazzi from all over the world are now pursuing the alien bird which has settled amongst the gravestones in the small town churchyard.
The local people showed little interest in the sparrow and most hadn't even bothered to pay their respects to the new immigrant, but the town has been raised from its winter hibernation, since the small town small business has been given a boost; the cafe and deli is now opened for trade an hour earlier than normal and the church has raised a staggering £4,000 pounds by shaking tins at BBC crews and flush twitchers, and other less well-healed twitcher watchers, further down the pecking order.
